Giacomo Rizzi

Guest Researcher

Giacomo Rizzi is an architect based in Rotterdam (NL). He received a master’s degree in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences from the Delft University of Technology in 2016. His professional and research activities cover the fields of architecture, infrastructure, and landscape design. Since 2017 he works as an architect at the firm KAAN Architecten, where he collaborates on the execution of several projects among which the Crematorium Siesegem in Aalst (BE) and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts KMSKA in Antwerp (BE). He previously worked at Zweidrei Architekten in Berlin (2013) and Torricelli Associati in Milan (2012). Rizzi is part of the Borders & Territories group at the TU Delft where he works, together with prof. Filip Geerts, on the publication “Idiosyncratic Infrastructure.” His research investigates representation methods and the mapping of infrastructural projects. Rizzi collaborates with botanist Valentina Barbieri, with whom he co-founded a landscape practice based in Italy. Since 2020 he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Applied Sciences FH Münster.
