Gabriel Schwake is a lecturer in Urban Design at the Sheffield School of Architecture. He studied at Tel Aviv University and obtained his PhD from TU Delft. Gabriel is the author of Dwelling on the Green Line: privatise and rule in Israel/Palestine (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and several articles focusing on the influences of neoliberalism and nationalism on the process of spatial production. His general areas of interest include urban and architectural history, housing, territoriality, contested spaces, privatisation, and [post]colonialism. Alongside his academic engagement, Gabriel is an active practitioner and a partner at Studio Sabra in Amsterdam.
